A brief history of Paducah, Texas

Settlers began living in the area of Paducah around 1850, and the county was officially organized in 1892 with the name Cottle County. Paducah was established as the county seat for Cottle County, and was home to the Cottle County courthouse.

Around the time that the county was established Paducah also got a post office and a newspaper. In 1909 the railroad came to Paducah. Paducah was officially incorporated as a town in 1910.
