I got really lucky with the timing of going to this restaurant. It was slightly crowded when I got there, but by the time I left it was absolutely packed. There was a line going down the sidewalk. There were a lot of people out and about, but this restaurant seemed particularly popular.

The food at this restaurant was delicious. I look forward to being able to go back one day.

I walked over to the restaurant from Hotel NH Ciudad de Santiago. It was a pleasant walk through a neighborhood called Barrio Italia. The neighborhood has a lot of different restaurants. It reminded me of how it used to be walking through Montrose in Houston, or parts of Austin. There were lots of stand alone houses, and many of them have been converted into businesses. There are a lot of cafes, salons, and shops. I felt safe walking through the area.

There is an outdoor eating area that made the restaurant easy to find. There is a big door on the corner that looked like the main door, but when I went in it I immediately realized that I should have gone in the door which was in the middle of the outdoor eating area.

I was sat in the second floor. It was a converted old house that gave it a bit of a rustic, intimate feel. There were lots of groups of friends, many tables were groups of four or more. They were playing music.

Different types of seafood piled high, over giant kernels of corn and lettuce. There is a pile of toasted corn on the side. There is a milky sauce over the whole dish. It is topped with rings of octopus.

The menu was done on QR code, and they had a very large selection of wines, beers, and mixed cocktails. There was a long list of different types of drinks. The non-alcoholic drinks were listed on the main food section of the menu. They had lemonade and lemonade with ginger and mint.

Filete alla Rossini was meat medallions. There were three pieces of meat wrapped in bacon. Each piece of meat had melted gruyere cheese on top. The sauce was made out of port wine, and was sweet and savory. There were circles of potatoes in between. The potatoes were rich like a sweet potato, but not exactly like that.

Three big circles of meat are wrapped in bacon and topped with a melted cheese. In between the meat are circles of a type of sweet potato that is cut to correspond with the way the meat is cut. The whole thing is served in a big white dish with plenty of a rich dark sauce.
The meat medallions were served in a delicious sauce. This was one of my favorite meals in Santiago.

The way of ordering meat to be cooked is not the same as in the United States. Instead of using rare, medium, or well done, they use a fraction system. I ordered the meat medium done, and the server suggested to order it three quarters done. I figured she knew better than I did, and she was right. Three quarters was more similar to what I would consider medium.

Ciudadano took a credit card. The credit card terminal they used was from a local bank called Transbank added a foreign transaction fee for using an international credit card. This is an additional fee to whether or not your own credit card charges you a foreign transaction fee.
