This restaurant was very highly recommended to me by the owner of the AirBNB that I stayed at nearby. She was raving about how good the food was, and I was glad that I got the opportunity to try it.

Villa Real has been open since 1946. It felt like a classic restaurant and was moderately formal. I liked that there were physical menus to look at, instead of just the QR codes that were most places. The waiter was very professional.

On the way into the restaurant there is a display case of cakes and baked goods including many alfajores of different types. There were lots of different varieties, and they all had nice attention to detail and creative presentation. I thought these chocolate dipped hearts looked particularly nice.

There was an outdoor seating area, and a large indoor seating area. The outdoor seating area had large red umbrellas over the tables. Even the tables outside had full table cloths. The building was very nice, and the patio had plants and lights.

The walls had murals painted on them, and there were decorative bird cages throughout the restaurant.

They had salads, seafood, and beef. It was all very high end.

I ordered the shrimp in garlic sauce and the osso bucco.

Everything was very delicious. The shrimp were very large.

They had fresh baked dinner rolls that were very nice. They were fresh from the oven and hot and steaming. They were like a yeasty roll, but also kind of flaky like a buscuit. They served it with butter or salsa.

The server was very polite friendly and proper. This was like one of those old school fancy places. I ate there for dinner, but was told that their breakfasts are very good as well.

For how nice the restaurant was and the quality of the food, I think the prices were very fair. I think if you were celebrating something and ordered a lot of drinks, it would be very easy to run up the bill here.
