Established in 1954, Atlanta State Park is located 13 miles from Atlanta, Texas and 30 miles southwest of Texarkana, Texas. The park is 1,475 acres and is near the Wright Patman Lake.  I went camping at Atlanta State Park after a trip to visit Jefferson, Texas and had a great time.

Reservations:

Reservations are available for both day use and camping.

Reservation windows open up for campsites up to one year in advance. Campsites should be reserved as soon as you know your plans, because locations will book up early especially for weekends and holidays.

Reservations open up for day use up to one month in advance. This park gets busy, and I recommend making a reservation for day use early especially if you plan to visit on a weekend or holiday. If you go to the park without a reservation you can be turned away if they are at capacity.
