With a line down the street, I wanted to see if this place was worth the hype.

Brussels Heart of Chocolate is a small chain of chocolate themed restaurants in Chile. There are multiple locations, but the one that I went to was in Providencia in Santiago.

They sell full desserts and coffee that you can enjoy in the restaurant, and also offer a retail section with truffles and boxes of chocolate to buy. I purchased a box of their chocolates as a thank you gift and the recipient seemed very happy.

I ordered the brownie with toffee sauce and bananas. It was topped with ice cream and whipped cream with chocolate shavings on top. It came in two sizes, and I went with the smaller size, which was still quite large. Small was $9,500 Chilean pesos which worked out to $9 US. The large was $14,800 Chilean pesos, or $15.70 US.

The restaurant is located in a large white building. It has an enclosed patio area on the side as well with even more seating.

Even with the large dining area, there is frequently a line outside the door. It is a very popular place to go. The line was quite long, but moved quickly. They had a QR code for the menu located outside, and were asking people to look up what they wanted to order before they entered the restaurant.

They were offering a promotion where you could get a free chocolate bonbon if you shared a picture of the restaurant on instagram. There were clearly a lot of people taking pictures of the inside of the restaurant or their food to post online.

When you go inside you are taken to a table. Once you are assigned your table you go to the counter to order and pay for your food. The counter also has a display case of chocolates that you can buy. Once you order your food it is delivered to your table.

The kitchen area is visible to most of the dining room. You can see the people assembling the different desserts. Chocolate fondue was clearly a popular order, as well as hot chocolate, which came in multiple flavors. They also had brownies, lava cakes, chocolate pizza, and small cakes.

Almost everything on the menu is made out of chocolate. It is primarily desserts, but there are a few sweet breakfast waffles, muesli, and a wide assortment of coffee drinks or tea. A lot of the chocolate was milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate, but dark chocolate was definitely available.

The dining area was decorated nicely. The way the desserts were served was also very photogenic. It was clearly designed to encourage people to post pictures on instagram. Almost everything was served with a small dish in the shape of a heart that was filled with milk chocolate sauce.
