Sea Rim State Park is located along the coast and has been hit by two hurricanes. The park opened in 1977.

Cost
The entry fee for Sea Rim State Park is $3 per person over the age of 13. There is free admission for people ages 12 and under.
There are additional fees for overnight stays which vary depending on the type of lodging or campsite.
To save money when visiting Sea Rim State Park, I recommend looking at a Texas State Parks Pass. The pass costs $70 a year. The benefit of the pass is that it allows the pass holder, and any passengers in their vehicle to enter the park without paying the day use fee.
Reservations
Reservations can be made in advance online. Reservations can be made for campsites or for day use. Reservations should be made as soon as you know your plans.
This is a popular park that often reaches capacity, even for day use. If you do not have a reservation you may be turned away at the gate.
Staying at Sea Rim State Park
Campsites
The floating primitive campsite is $15 per night. It is only accessible by boat. It is a floating platform in the marsh. You must bring a five gallon bucket with waste bag. You can rent a kayak to get to the floating platform. It is two miles from the boat ramp.
Drive up primitive campsites are $10 per night. They are located on the beach. There is no water or bathrooms. Fires are allowed. Some parts allow horses. The campsites can be impacted by weather and tides.
Campsites with electricity are $20 per night. The campsites are near the beach. There is a picnic table, a grill, a tent pad, and a lantern post. There are hookups for water and electricity.
Cabins
The cabin is $95 per night. The cabin has electricity and air conditioning. The cabin has a kitchen with a sink, refrigerator, microwave, and stove with oven. There is a bathroom with a toilet and a sink. There is a picnic table outside and beds inside. Bedding and kitchen utensils are not provided. Pets are not allowed in the cabin.
Restrooms in Sea Rim State Park
There are bathrooms provided throughout the day use parts of the park. There are showers for rinsing off near the beach.
Hiking Trails
There are two walking trails in the park.
Dune Boardwalk is a five minute walk.
Gambia Nature Trail Boardwalk is 0.7 miles through the marsh.
What is there to do at Sea Rim State Park?
You can fish on the beach or on the marsh side. You do not need a fishing license to fish from the shore of a state park.

Try you hand at nature photography or going birding. Alligators, mink, river otter, and ghost crabs live on the beach.
Dogs at Sea Rim State Park
Sea Rim State Park allows dogs into the park. Dogs must be on a leash in public areas of the park including on hiking trails. Owners must clean up after their dogs.
Dogs are not allowed inside any of the buildings, including cabins and bathrooms.
Alligators live in the park. Keep dogs away from alligators.
