Langtry, Texas
Langtry, Texas is 19 miles from the park. Langtry is an unincorporated area with a population of about 12 people. You can see the Judge Roy Bean Visitor Center. Judge Roy Bean was known as the “Law West of the Pecos.” He ran a saloon that he called the Jersey Lilly and worked as a justice of the peace and notary public. Langtry also has a scenic overlook.
Del Rio, Texas
Del Rio, Texas is 41 miles from the park. Del Rio is the county seat of Val Verde County, Texas and has a population of 35,000 people. Del Rio is known for the Laughlin Air Force Base. Del Rio has a historic downtown that you can walk around. You can visit the Laughlin Heritage Foundation Museum. Del Rio also has many restaurants, hotels, and shopping. It is a good place to pick up supplies for camping.
