Tinh That Hanh Nguyen Buddhist Center

5102 County Road 42, Rosharon, Texas 77583

I saw this place pop up as a suggestion on Google Maps when I was headed back to Houston from Brazos Bend State Park. I was curious what it was, so I decided to drive by.

It is located back in the forest from the main highways in the area, but the sign is very clear from the street. I could see many enormous marble Buddha statues. There was an ornate gate for the drive, which was open so I decided to pull in and parked in the large parking lot out front.

A large gate with an arch at the entrance to the property. The top of the arch is painted red, and has gold decorations.

Some dogs that live on the property came running out to my car, and then a woman came out of the building to greet me. She was incredibly welcoming and friendly and gave me a tour.

She showed me the different Buddha sculptures on the property, and explained them to me. They had flowers and gardens all around.

She also allowed me to go inside the temple with her. I took my shoes off at the door and went in. I took these photographs with her permission.

A building with two red roofs, the corners have jutting out gold swirls. In front of several very large marble statues, including two lions.
